Only international nationals undertaking research in Indonesia are eligible for the Research KITAS visa. Sponsorship is required for this visa and can be given by relevant government ministries or universities that meet the requirements. This visa does not allow the holder to work and make money because it is only intended for research.

Steps to Obtain Your Research KITAS

  • E-Vitas C315 visa application: The first step in the procedure is to apply for the E-Vitas C315 visa, which is required in order to enter Indonesia.
  • Passport Submission: The foreign national must present their original passport to the appropriate authority upon arrival in Indonesia.
  • Biometric and Fingerprint Session: Attendance at a biometric and fingerprint session is mandatory for the applicant.
  • E-Vitas to KITAS Conversion: At the local immigration office, the E-Vitas is changed to a KITAS.
  • KITAS Completion: When an E-KITAS and a multiple entrance re-entry permit are issued, the procedure is considered finished.
